CARES final consortium meeting hosted by TUD

April 11, 2023

Dresden became the European center for remote emission measurements – for two days. The CARES consortium met for a final meeting March 21-22 to discuss the project’s final work. The project has been running since 2019 and has demonstrated the usefulness of cross-road remote sensing, plume chasing and new point sampling techniques. We have developed new research tools and determined real-world emissions in Milan, Krakow, and Prague. The openCARES software provides a reliable way of presenting key summary data and plots from RES measurement campaigns, through the production of an automated summary report based on end users’ own RES data. For further application we can now offer to authorities reliable tools for high-emitter detection and vehicle emission measurements.
